The pipes I ordered were difficult to draw smoke from, due to the metal bowl inserts, which had very small holes in the bottom.

Summary: "Great for a deorative piece"

These pipes are great to look at, but if you are a pipe smoker at any level you will want to save your money. They are made of metal not wood, the pipe and stem stay together well, but they smoke hot, and the have metal porous filters. Not a good choice to taste tobacco.

I got just what i orderd. The pipes where sent but only had one pipe cleaners box. Not 2 like the picture. These would be good pipes for a starter who would like to use other brands of smoke till you find the one you like. I do like the steel insert in the bowl of the pipe.

Summary: "Good Starter Set"

While I prefer wooden pipes to plastic ones, these pipes are pretty good if you are just getting started pipe smoking. While with wood pipes, you cannot try different types of tobacco in them without running the risk of mixing the flavors in the wood, these plastic pipes allow you to try out different types before designating your favorite tobaccos. I have already begun collecting actual wood pipes for my favorite tobaccos, but these will still occasionally be used for testing new flavors. Though they tend to get pretty hot, they are easy to keep lit once you learn how to light them properly. I like how they were packaged too - they each came in their own individual faux leather pouches in individual boxes, very protected.
